Copper
Copper is a durable, malleable metal which maintains electrical conductivity and does not generally corrode or deteriorate over time. Its colours range from a gleaming pinkish salmon when freshly exposed, to a light brown and finally a pale blue-green as a thin layer of oxidisation builds up on its surface as weathering progresses over a number of years.
Copper has featured in decorative artwork throughout history. Modern design sees the growing use of copper for vertical cladding and architectural features. Its durability enables it to be used in works designed to last a lifetime.
